Ghost

“Ok, let’s eh, let’s switch gears a little bit. Let’s see if we can get it to say anything.  Can you tell us  óne name of the people in the chatroom, óne name? ….. Can you tell us yóur name? ….. This is the PX, we also have an Obelisk, this is, uhm, like the most advanced obelisk that they have made to this point. It’s actually a combination of the obelisk and the Puck. I don’t know how they came up with the name PX, but it is a combination of the two, it does anything the Puck does, which I’ve never utilized those functions, since I’ve been in a… OUTSIDE… HAPPIER… VIDEO… CLIP… EAT… eat… okay… PASSED… yes… are you passed, so, or what?… LAUGHING… hahaha… since the computing are all inside.. pin.. I can hook it up to a laptop or to my computer, right in here, and I’m hoping enable… to make print this words on screen… EMMA… there is Emma, Emma again, always Emma. Emma, Jim and Murphy (…)”

This guy chatters about communication with ghosts, like a salesman. He has some devices and these devices can generate words. Words, according to him,  from Ghosts. As far as I understand, the ‘Ghosts’ are picking up words from an array of words, entered into the device. “Emma again, always Emma”… uhm, yeah… what else did you expect? It’s hilarious how this guy is constantly interrupted by random words of his machine. “So, obviously there is a learning curve”.

Matrix

“Do you want to know what it is…”
“If you killed in the matrix, you die here…”
“The body can not live without the mind…”
“Welcome to the real world…”

A couple of lines from the movie ‘The Matrix’.

Troll the NSA

“(…) shot fire evacuation explosive police disaster medical assistance crime gangs national security state of emergencies security threat SWAT screaming lock-down bomb crash (…) “

This is a fragment of a long audio clip with only random words, pronounced by a word synthesizer, that the NSA tends to monitor in our online communication. It’s from 2013 when Edward Snowden revealed NSA documents, and as a reaction people suggested to troll the NSA, for instance to add these kind of words to emails, so the NSA was misled.

My dog wins

“My dog wins,
my horse wins,
my man wins,
my woman wins
sniw namow ym
,sniw nam ym

This is a sentence (normal and mirrored) from a story in which someone tells about the rat race in which everyone surpasses each other in being better than the other.

Ok team

“Ok team, follow my comment. Get in position and wait for my call.”

Just two sentences, found in the computer soundfiles folder of an installed wargame.

For the sake of Allah

(…) Allah’s love, my dear brothers and sisters, is due to those who love one another for the sake of Allah. Its upon us to understand this, that Allah’s love, it is due to those who love one another for the sake of Allah. And it is due to those who visit one another for the sake of a Allah. Hope the brothers are listening, those who love one another for the sake of Allah, those who visit one another for the sake of Allah. Those who meet one another for the sake of Allah. Allah’s love is due to them. (…)

This is a part of a Islamic religious narration, in English, combined with pieces in the Arabic language. As a non-religious person it’s interesting to hear this and think about questions like… what is actually said? Is it poetry or information, or is it just a tranquilizing sound? Why is this man so motivated to tell this story? And why would you listen to this?

Viva la Meggico

This is kind of early experiment trying to align the created music with a number of sound samples.  So, this one is more about composition and timing.
