Far over the misty mountains cold
To dungeons deep and caverns old
We must away, ere break of day
To seek our pale enchanted gold
“De Engelse schrijver J.R.R. Tolkien heeft sy krities-bekroonde boek The Hobbit vrygestel, en toe ons later moes die fliek sien van The Hobbit. Ek het dit vreeslik geniet.”
A brief phrase on a South African radio station. As a Dutch speaker, I can understand South African to a very limited extent, but over the years, the two languages have diverged significantly. I needed IA to make sense of it. The African lady says: “(Today, September 21st, it is exactly 89 years ago today that…) the English writer J.R.R. Tolkien published his book The Hobbit. And when I watched the movie later, I really enjoyed it.”
The Hobbit .. I wasn’t interested in it at all… Ek het dit nogal vervelig gevind.
